Jan Gösgens
My wife took this photo in Ghana, where I was working at the Feyenoord Fetteh Football Academy. Every Sunday morning we would take the boys out for a training on the beach. We worked hard, but we always had time for some good laughs!
It was a great, but also a very trying and educational experience during which I got acquainted with a different culture, made new friends and helped young players make the most of their abilities.
I have worked in soccer since I was 17 years of age. First as a pro at FC Den Bosch and SC Cambuur, later as a youth trainer at FC Den Bosch and Feyenoord (including the Feyenoord Fetteh Academy in Ghana as well as Supersport/Feyenoord in South Africa), and now of course Training Trips.
My passion for soccer has been a driving force throughout my life, and I never get bored with it. I used to tell my boys in Ghana to “play with your heart, not only with your head”. It has become my credo in everything I do!
